Palma de Mallorca
Located on the southern shores of the island, Palma de Mallorca is the island’s picturesque capital city. It overlooks the sparkling Mediterranean Sea and is home to half of Majorca’s population.

The Beaches
If you’re staying south of the island, take a trip to Cala Llombards. This is a beautiful cove covered in white golden sand, surrounded by pine trees and old boatsheds which stand on the rocks. The sea is shallow, making it a great beach location for families. The water is also crystal clear, perfect for swimming and snorkelling!
Cala Deià, close to Sóller is located north west of the island. The water is very clear and the beach is surrounded by rocky cliffs, making it feel very secret and hidden! This is one of the best beaches for swimming and snorkelling and there are many yachts which pass by during the day, making a very picturesque view across the Mediterranean. There are also a few restaurants located nearby which are happy to provide refreshments whilst you enjoy your day at the beach!
Puerto Pollensa is located on the islands north-east coast. This long stretch of beach is a popular spot for families and couples. The water is a dreamy deep blue and the sands are golden - the perfect recipe for a relaxing day! There are many inviting cafes and bars along the sea-front which are open throughout the day!
Visit Sóller by Vintage Train
The vintage wooden train travels 17 miles from Palma to the little picturesque town of Soller. It follows a scenic route through the Tramuntana Mountains and passes a landscape of pine forests, olive groves and citrus orchards. Soller is great for browsing around shops, and there are many lovely cafes and restaurants to visit near the harbour or beach!
Calvari Steps
Located in the popular tourist town of Puerto Pollensa, the Calvari steps are an ancient staircase which start from the central square and lead to a small church known as the Calvario Chapel. There are 365 steps to climb all together, but don’t worry, there are little shops to stop at on the way up to the top! Once you have reached the church, you will realise why this staircase is such a big tourist attraction, the views from the top are beautiful and definitely make it worth the climb!
Bellver Castle
Situated just outside the city of Palma, Majorca’s Castell de Bellver is a 14th century castle full of history and legend. It has been standing for over 700 years, which is hard to believe when seeing how well it has been preserved. For many centuries the castle was used as a prison, you can engage your imagination with your surroundings and visualise what it was once like.
Today it contains Palma's museum of history, which touches the development of the city through its artefacts, with pottery from Talaiotic, Roman, Arab and Spanish periods.
Coves del Drac
These caves are located south of the village Porto Cristo, and are now one of the top tourist attractions in Majorca. There is a guided tour around the caves and the different shapes and formations are explained as well as some of the history. After the one hour tour, there is a violin concert on Lake Martel and visitors can then take a pleasant boat ride deeper into the caves which is steered by a gondolier. It is a very popular attraction and well worth a visit if you have never been before.
